Before we get carried away with all the holiday crafty goodness, let me briefly introduce myself. Well hello, I’m Madison (insert hug). I’m from Ontario, Canada, and I moved to Nashville about five years ago to write, sing, and strum my lil heart out. I’m writing to you while sipping tea from an ‘I believe in Nashville’ mug, listening to an Elvis Presley record, all cozied up in a blanket and some festive fuzzy socks.
In case you couldn’t tell by the amount of Uggs, red Starbucks cups and jam packed mall traffic around town lately, Christmas is nearly upon us! Only 5 days, but who’s counting right?!
I’m known to take my Christmas cheer to the next level by baking an obnoxious amount of cookies and treats, instigating hardcore snowball fights, overplaying the Michael Buble Christmas Album, watching movie marathons and doing some creative / make-shift gift wrapping. I am a Pinterest addict and a sucker for all things homemade or DIY. There’s just something special and sentimental about making and gifting something from scratch, especially this time of year. So with those few things in mind I present to you, some of my go-to gift wrapping techniques of 2016.
Here's what you'll need!
- Brown Craft Paper (I found mine at Michael's!)
- Paint (I like gold!)
- Paint Brushes or Sponges
- Name Tags (The Target dollar section has some cute ones!)
- Twigs, Berries, Leaves
Start by wrapping the gifts with the brown craft paper…
Then get creative! Maybe splatter some paint, wrap it with twine, lace or yarn. Try adding a bow, name tag, or some festive greenery!
Make sure to tweet me pictures or tag me on Instagram if you re-create any of these looks, @Madison_Kozak! Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
