Tips and tricks for buying + styling
The wild, wild West is making a comeback! Double buckle belts and wide-brimmed hats are just a few of the Western trends back on the market. My favorite of all the Western accessories are bandanas! Whether you tie it around your neck, wear it in your hair or pair it with a concho for a makeshift necktie, everyone can master the art of the bandana. Here are some tips and tricks for getting the ropes!
First things first - Where do you get a good bandana? Truth is, there are a lot of unnecessarily expensive bandanas out there right now from high-end stores and boutiques. And believe it or not, the best place to buy is Walmart! They have your run-of-the-mill paisley prints (and a few quirky ones too) in a mess of colors for just $1 each! It doesn’t get much better than that, y’all. Not a chance. American Eagle also has traditional paisley bandanas right now, but they’re larger than the standard size, making them great for wrapping around your head or even a belt! Want something unique? Check out my favorite Nashville store Castilleja. It’s a local business in Edgehill Village owned by Liz Rose.
Now the question on everyone’s mind - how do you style a bandana? Good news, friends - there are a million ways to wear it! The easiest style in my opinion is tying one around your neck with a solid color tee or tank top. Adding other elements like a bolo tie or hat are simple touches to take your outfit to the next level! Check out the pictures below for more inspiration!
After talking to a lot of my friends, I’ve learned that so many people are scared to try new trends like wearing a bandana. I have a lot of experience with making daring fashion choices, so believe me when I say you just have to DO IT! Even if you’re unsure about how it looks or you’re nervous to step out of the box, I promise it’ll get easier every time you wear it! It takes time to experiment and learn what you’re comfortable with. In the process, you’ll learn about your personal style, grow in confidence, and inspire others to try new things with you!
Happy bandana hunting, friends!
